1840 The introduction of the "Penny Black" postage stamp (1840) made sending mail cheap. In 1843 Sir Henry Cole commissioned the first commercial Christmas card in London.
1900s The 20th century, companies like Hallmark (founded 1910) Today, while digital e-cards exist, physical cards remain a popular tradition
